Engraving Attachment
Emco Education Ltd can supply an engraving attachment which fits on the milling head of the F1 and WoodWorker mills. It is a x5 spindle speed multiplier designed to run at a maximum of 18000rpm.
Because the WoodWorker has a maximum spindle speed of 8000rpm, great care is required in setting the attachment spindle speed. The WoodWorker spindle speed control knob must not be set higher than 3600rpm. At this setting the attachment will run at its maximum speed of 5 x 3600 = 18000rpm.
Because the F1 mill has a maximum spindle speed of 2000rpm there is no danger of over-revving the attachment. Its maximum speed is 5 x 2000 = 10000rpm.
The attachment is supplied with a set of Proxxon collets.
The maximum cutter size is about 3mm, but should be smaller for engraving.
The attachment is intended for engraving and not milling.
The attachment costs about £720 and a set of small cutters about £9.
